The VNAHNB is looking for volunteers with compassion and spare time. This special invitation for volunteers is for our hospice and supportive care programs. A wide range of volunteer opportunities are available to suite your talents and your schedule.
"Hospice volunteers come from all walks of life, and anyone who is willing to care for and share some time with patients and families who are faced with a life-threatening illness is welcome to apply for this training." Marcia Doran, VNAHNB Hospice Director
Volunteers for home care assist with household tasks, run errands and read to patients in their homes. Bereavement volunteers provide support to family or significant others during illness and following the death of loved one. Special service volunteers provide specific services utilizing their own talents, such as fund-raising, newsletters, photography, cooking, sewing, gardening, etc. Professional volunteers provide support in areas of their expertise such as clergy, nursing, social work, etc. Volunteers can also visit with patients who are in the hospital or in nursing homes, write letters, and assist with personal needs.
If any of our volunteer descriptions fit you or someone you know, please call Marcia Doran at 664-4536 or e-mail for more information on our training/orientation program.
